Next week, on the 27th of August, will start the 4th edition of the cinema cycle - CineMar 2021.
Join us and come watch a movie in the Museum's garden, a magnificent space located by the sea. (It is recommended to bring a rug or a blanket)
Wearing a face mask is mandatory.
The Madeira Whale Museum's garden was renovated again, after, lamentably and repeatedly, being vandalized. The ripped objects were replaced by paintings that represent the message that each bench intends to transmit, making this space a place where everyone can enjoy its fantastic conditions. The following pictures show the final result of this requalification.
The Madeira Whale Museum has added a new object to its permanent exhibition - Electric circular table saw.
And you can find it at the Madeira Whale Museum, where the Machico Occupational Activities Center in creative arts exhibition will be open to the public, free of charge, starting June 4th. We look forward to your visit!
This year, the creative project BaleiArte, explores the theme BALEÃO (baleia + embalão). However, due to the limitations of the pandemic situation we have been facing, the involvement of the population in the activities promoted by the Museum has not been at par with what was intended.
For this reason, we entrust you with the choosing of the BALEÃO winner in the INTERVENTION category. All you have to do is like the photograph, on FACEBOOK, of the BALEÃO that you think is the most interventive (either in terms of artistic intervention, or in terms of the relevance of the message).
*We remind you that the like must be made on the ORIGINAL photograph of the publication made by the Museum, until May 31st, 2021*.
The Madeira Whale Museum is celebrating the International Museum Day. This year the theme is "THE FUTURE OF MUSEUMS: Recover and Reimagine". The entrance to the permanent exhibitions will be free of charge, encouraging access to regional and local culture.
