Environmental awareness activities involving visits to scientific research boats and hiking were developed.
September 3rd 2008 - Guided tour to scientific research "Ziphius" and "Song of the Whale" boats in Machico Bay, framed in summer activities involving 16 monitors and 170 children from Machico and Santa Cruz after-school recreation centres;
March 21st 2009 - Celebration of the Day of Water in collaboration with the Quinta do Lorde and students from Aldeia Paz;
June 1st to 3rd 2009 – Travel/award for whale and dolphins observaion, related to the selection of the contest mascot for the museum.
